Job summary

The Colorado Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is seeking a Structural Trades II to perform maintenance and repair work at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora. The role supports multiple facilities with a focus on doors, electrical components, and carpentry tasks, requiring precise workmanship and ability to coordinate with other trades.

The position involves rotating shifts, potential after-hours snow removal, and a strong focus on safety, security, and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Four years of progressive experience in structural trades including construction, electrical and carpentry.
• A combination of related education, apprenticeship, or relevant experience totaling four years.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call as needed.
• Must pass a background check and obtain security clearance within nine months.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on door systems, gates, and related hardware.
• Maintain low voltage electrical systems for doors and gate operators.
• Execute carpentry and building maintenance tasks including framing, drywall, painting.
• Install and repair flooring, ceilings, roofs, walls, and office furniture.
• Escort and coordinate contractors and other trades for mission readiness.
• Submit work orders, track time in Kronos, and manage emails and schedules.
