Job summary

The Colorado Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) seeks a skilled trades professional to support the Civil Engineering Division at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora. The position involves door and structural systems maintenance, electrical and carpentry tasks, and coordination of preventative maintenance with various shops to ensure mission readiness.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, safe operation of heavy doors, and participation in after-hours snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of progressive experience in structural trades.
• A combination of related education, apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in structural trades equaling four (4) years.
• Must be able to work rotating shift assignments, overtime, and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs independent routine preventative maintenance and repair on door systems, security gates, and related hardware.
• Maintains and repairs low voltage electrical systems on doors, operators, and gate systems.
• Performs carpentry and building maintenance work including framing and finish carpentry.
• Installs and maintains flooring, ceilings, walls, drywall, painting, and related finishes.
• Performs annual inspections and coordinates with contractors for service contracts.
