Job summary

PAM Health in Plano, TX is seeking a professional coder to perform ICD-10-CM and CPT coding for inpatient and outpatient records. You will abstract data reflecting admission reasons, care level, and illness severity while adhering to hospital and PAM Health procedures.

Ideal candidates have two or more years of coding experience and possess or pursue CCS, CPC, or related credentials. Collaborative team environment with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Coding, medical terminology, Anatomy/Physiology courses preferred.
• Certification in CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CBCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA or RN/LPN with ICD-9-CM coding preferred.
• Minimum two years experience as a coder preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and outpatient medical records per ICD-10-CM and CPT rules and conventions.
• Abstract data reflecting admission, care level, and severity of illness.
• Stay current with ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines and Official Coding Guidelines.
• Communicate with physicians, families, staff and hospital personnel as needed.
