Qualifications

• Must have CPC certification and applicable specialty certification as required.
• Five years professional coding experience in healthcare.
• Proficient with CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding guidelines and payer policies.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts and codes for assigned providers/division based on medical record documentation.
• Adheres to all coding and compliance guidelines.
• Uses coding software and resources to determine correct codes.
• Communicates issues to supervisor and participates in meetings to improve billing.
