PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Kyle is seeking a skilled medical coder to perform coding and abstracting of inpatient and outpatient records in line with ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines. The role requires precise data entry and collaboration with hospital staff to ensure accurate billing and reporting.

The ideal candidate has at least a two-year coding background, knowledge of ICD-10-CM/CPT, and is pursuing appropriate credentials such as CCS, CPC, or RHIT/RHIA. HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Coding terminology and anatomy/physiology courses preferred.
• Pursuit or completion of one of the listed coding certifications (CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CBCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA) is preferred.
• Experience as a coder and pursuing certification will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract inpatient and outpatient medical records per ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines.
• Ensure codes reflect admission reasons, care extent, and illness severity.
