Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety in Columbus, OH is seeking a Planner 2 to coordinate project compliance and fiscal aspects of facility management. The role supports preparation of contracts, memoranda, and bid documents while tracking expenditures for construction projects.

Qualifications

• Completion of undergraduate core program or 24 months experience in assigned program area.
• AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operational, mathematical, analytical or statistical research methods.
• AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.
• AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in budgeting.
• AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in technical writing or business communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as project compliance & fiscal coordinator over projects for the Facility Management Office.
• Assist in preparation memoranda, contracts, and other legal instruments for the ODPS.
• Prepare bid tabulation worksheets and assist in bid preparation & tabulation at bid opening.
• Track funds/expenditures for construction projects using OAKS, Excel, and FM Access database.
• Recommend actions pertaining to cost overruns, funds release, and updates to FM procedures.
