Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, seeks a Facility Operator Trainee to support wastewater facilities, lift stations, and distribution systems under a Field Supervisor. The role covers equipment maintenance, system operation, and data recording to ensure reliable service.

You will perform water quality analyses, adjust treatments, and work toward required licenses (up to Class-B CDL) with on-the-job training under a unionized framework.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow operating instructions written and verbal.
• Math calculations for ratios, dosages and volumetric computations.
• Understanding of environmental protection and preventing wastewater pollution.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at the wastewater production facilities and booster stations.
• Maintains equipment at the wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
• Operates and maintains sewer collection systems including mains and pump stations.
• Troubleshoots and repairs service piping.
• Performs routine water quality analysis.
• Makes operational adjustments to meet water quality standards.
• Adjusts chemical treatment and calculates dosages.
• Completes customer service work orders and updates system documentation.
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.
