Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Facility Operator Trainee in Texas to support wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and the distribution system. Under the supervision of the Field Supervisor, you will perform a variety of operational tasks and document activities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Class-B CDL with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with ability to read and follow instructions.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License; company pool vehicle may be used.
• Must obtain Class-B CDL with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements within 18 months/90 days depending on program.
• Cadidate must pursue Water or Wastewater license per progression schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at wastewater production facilities and booster stations.
• Maintains equipment at wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
• Operates and maintains sewer collection systems including mains and pump stations.
• Troubleshoots and repairs service piping.
• Performs routine water quality analysis per procedures.
• Makes operational adjustments to meet state/federal water quality standards.
• Adjusts chemical treatment to ensure water quality standards.
• Calculates ratios and dosages for treatment processes.
• Completes work orders and updates documentation; closes orders per policy.
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.

Education

High school diploma, GED or equivalent

CDL Class-B with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements

CDL permit and US DOT medical card within 90 days

Water/Wastewater license (Class 4 or 3) within 18 months
