Job summary

The Auto Club Group in Chicago, IL is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Facility Manager in daily repair shop operations. You will help drive performance, develop the team, manage workflow, and ensure a high level of customer service across the facility.

You will monitor key business metrics, coach staff, and provide leadership to ensure efficient shop operations and a positive customer experience while meeting safety and policy standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, and/or technical school certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 1 year of experience working with automotive or truck systems.
• Ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify opportunities and risks, and make sound business decisions.
• Proven leadership, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, business partners, and leadership.
• Results-driven and able to perform in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities and challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support daily shop operations, including financial performance, expenses, inventory, and workflow.
• Monitor business results and help drive productivity, revenue, and profitability goals.
• Supervise and coach Service Advisors and other team members to meet performance and customer service expectations.
• Partner with the Facility Manager on employee development, performance management, and policy compliance.
• Resolve customer concerns and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Promote safety compliance and assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Help ensure the location meets operational, customer service, and business objectives.
• Partner with the Facility Manager to drive customer satisfaction, employee engagement, productivity, volume, revenue, gross profit, and overall business performance.
