Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking an Assistant Administrator to oversee internal facility operations under the Administrator, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local standards, policies, and Alden Management Services directives.

Key duties include planning and directing programs, supervising staff, ensuring quality care, handling admissions paperwork, and representing the facility to hospitals and community agencies.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; college education or licensed nurse QUALIFICATIONS preferred.
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care preferred.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly and communicate effectively.
• Ability to relate tactfully with residents, families, personnel, and the public.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a cheerful disposition.
• Leadership and supervisory ability; cooperate with all personnel.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility in its programs and activities.
• Assure that all procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Directly supervise employees and instruct staff providing in-services training to promote job knowledge.
• Identify problems, develop, and implement solutions with the assistance of Alden Management Services.
• Assure that quality care is being rendered.
• Assure the necessary and appropriate information to facilitate admission of residents and complete paperwork.
• Represent the facility to clients, hospitals, and community agencies; establish rapport with transferring institutions.
• Provide direction for the entire facility in the absence of the Administrator.
• Review policy manuals and procedures annually; recommend revisions to the Administrator.
• Ensure personnel follow departmental policies, dress code, and attend care plan conferences.
• Investigate and follow through on resident or family concerns; communicate status to complainant.
• Meet with personnel to identify problem areas and improve services.
• Schedule department hours, personnel, and assignments; discipline as necessary.
• Complete performance evaluations timely; create a warm, professional atmosphere.
• Plan, conduct, and participate in in-service Education Programs; orient new staff.
• Attend continuing education programs; propose improvements to resident care and budgets.
