Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Facility MEP Assessor to perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing condition assessments in City-owned buildings.

The candidate will assess and evaluate the building’s performance including energy usage, HVAC equipment, fire protection components, and the building’s overall code compliance, sustainability and resiliency, etc., and outline immediate and potential problem areas so that informed decisions can be

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience in construction projects valued at $300,000+ per year.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or related field with 1 year of relevant experience.
One year of experience plus a licensed professional engineer, licensed architect, or landscape architect.
Alternative: 5 years of education and experience combined to meet five-year requirement; undergrad substitution rules apply.

Responsibilities

Conduct MEP condition assessments in City-owned buildings (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
Evaluate energy usage, HVAC equipment, fire protection, and overall code compliance, sustainability and resiliency.
Record existing conditions and prepare facility assessment reports for sponsor budget planning.
