Job summary

PACS is seeking a maintenance worker to uphold safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities. The role involves following schedules, reporting incidents, and coordinating with nursing services for resident areas.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance of grounds and buildings, lighting, HVAC service, and safe handling of equipment. The position emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and adaptability to duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, staff, families and the public.
• Maintain care and use of supplies and keep maintenance areas orderly.
• Willingness to adopt new maintenance methods and practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance schedules are followed for the shift or area.
• Report all accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance with nursing services when working in residents' areas.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds and facility including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks.
• Replace burned out lights and ensure safety of lighting fixtures.
• Service heating and cooling units per manufacturer directions and policies.
• Follow safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.
• Assist others in lifting heavy equipment or supplies as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and prevent unauthorized disclosure.
