Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure that all mechanical systems and equipment run smoothly and that common areas remain clean, aesthetically pleasing, and disinfected. The role requires performing a range of building maintenance tasks and coordinating with supervisors to keep the property in top condition.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years in building trades, strong communication skills, and a customer-service mindset, with willingness to perform

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Multilingual abilities are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors, checks for problems and reports to supervisors.
• Ensures safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains good working relationships with building staff.
• Paints common areas and touches up as needed; inspects areas for painting and informs manager.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Performs casual labor and follows safety procedures for lifting/moving heavy items.
• Performs maintenance repairs in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, flooring and other building tasks.
• Follows safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
