Job summary

Americold in Modesto, CA is seeking an on-site General Maintenance Technician to inspect and repair doors, dock equipment, sprinkler systems, roofing, and HVAC. You will work under general supervision to keep critical warehouse systems functioning safely.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience with electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry.
• Familiarity with various maintenance trades and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and adjustments on doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, sprinkler systems, and electrical components per OSHA standards.
• Maintenance and repairs on roofing, and office and break room HVAC systems.
• Inspect and test operating equipment and safety equipment for OSHA compliance.
• Test and evaluate equipment performance with voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
• Maintain tools, machinery, batteries, and chargers in good condition; use equipment as instructed.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records.
• Routine maintenance on external equipment and grounds including snow removal, painting, and paving repairs.
• Work flexible shifts, including on-call, and respond to security alarm calls as needed.
• Other essential duties as assigned.
