Job summary

The Department of Corrections (DOC) seeks a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1 to lead the maintenance team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix. You will supervise staff, coordinate repairs, and guide on‑job training to ensure a safe, well‑run facility.

Responsibilities include daily planning, budgeting, safety checks, and after‑hours emergency response, with a clear focus on security‑aware teams and high‑quality work.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor with a specialty in one of the trades; or six years in construction, maintenance or repair of buildings with two years in a managerial/supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Daily Planning: organize work schedules, assign tasks, and prepare budgets reflecting facility goals.
• Staff Oversight: direct maintenance and trades employees, plan orientation and training sessions, review performance.
• Operational Reporting: prepare inventories, track assignments, and maintain records.
