Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a maintenance specialist to perform preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs in our facilities. You will manage materials, supervise detainee maintenance staff, and ensure building systems stay safe and functional.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of general maintenance or related trade, a valid driver’s license, and ability to perform plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs; US citizen, 21+ years old.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of general maintenance and/or related construction trade experience.
• Valid, active driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of equipment needed for proper repairs.
• Able to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Effective communication with residents and staff; respond quickly in emergencies.
• Must be at least 21 years old and a United States citizen.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and machinery for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Survey jobs and ensure materials and tools are on hand.
• Direct and inspect detainee maintenance staff; provide technical assistance.
• Perform carpentry to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, etc.
