Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Houston seeks an experienced Building Engineer to operate, monitor, and maintain essential facility equipment including chillers, boilers, and HVAC systems. The role responds to alarms and emergencies, performs routine preventive maintenance, and supports tenant service requests.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• City of Houston 2nd Grade Stationary Engineer license or credential.
• City of Houston Apprentice Maintenance Electrician credential.
• HVAC/R experience and building automation familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain all physical plant equipment including water chillers, boilers, air compressors, generators, cooling towers, air handlers, and HVAC systems.
• Respond to Building Automation System alarms, utility interruptions, and facility emergencies.
• Complete minor preventive maintenance work and machinery history logs.
• Respond to facility outages by immediate repairs or recall of personnel.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance during non-standard hours.
• Respond to tenant service needs including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other requests.
• Analyze special projects in coordination with property management and engineer.
• Assist with budgeting and vendor invoice approvals for repair and maintenance.
• Participate in on-call rotations after hours and weekends.
