Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering - Plant Operations to support the Director in daily facilities management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning across multiple hospital campuses in North Carolina.

The role ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment to support patient care, staff needs, and operational efficiency, including oversight of preventive maintenance, life safety, and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; CHFM certification within 2 years.
• 2 years facility management/engineering and 1 year hospital management experience.
• Experience with HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
• Knowledge of NFPA, Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safety: develop and enforce policies; monitor environments for safe practices.
• Grounds and Building: oversee maintenance, inspections, and contractor coordination.
• Housekeeping: ensure clean and sanitary conditions across the environment.
• Dietary: oversee daily food production and equipment safety in related areas.
• Additional Performance Standards: support budgeting, project planning, and quality goals.
