Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care seeks an Engineering Operations Manager to lead the Plant Engineering Department, directing daily maintenance activities and providing technical expertise in skilled trades. The role coordinates safety requirements, vendor contracts, and CMMS-driven PM, inspections, and documentation to ensure compliant operations.

You will mentor staff, develop dashboards, and help manage budgets while aligning with organizational safety and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Education: College, two or four year degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: At least 5 years in a position involving management of maintenance personnel in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance, CMMS, Life Safety Code, State and Federal Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Maintenance Department under the Director of Engineering.
• Assign and direct daily maintenance department personnel.
• Coordinate contract service vendors and ensure safe, clean facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and develop reports/dashboards.
• Support budgeting for facilities operations and capital equipment replacement.
