Job summary

CSL in Kenner, LA is seeking a Custodian to support the collection center with cleaning and basic maintenance. The role requires maintaining a clean and orderly environment, handling routine tasks, and adhering to safety policies. Bilingual skills may be required at the organization’s discretion.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma or equivalent and a short-term custodian experience. The job may involve overtime to meet center operational needs and may require lifting up to 40

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) months experience as a custodian preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Cleans tables, chairs, cabinets, counters and appliances in break room and donor waiting area.
• Vacuum carpets, dust furniture and remove trash.
• Clean windows and doors daily.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, painting, plumbing and carpentry tasks.
• Monitor grounds and parking lots, pick up litter as required.
• Assist in recycling and repackaging of shipping materials.
• Inspect and clean restrooms, replace paper and soap supplies.
• Receive supplies from vendors and move to storage areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
