Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Construction Supervisor in the Facility Operations Division of the General Services Department. The role directs field staff (carpentry, locksmithing, etc.) in maintenance of City facilities and provides project management for building improvement programs.

The supervisor will oversee installations, renovations, and repairs, coordinate with designers and contractors, and ensure proper operation of access control systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise field staff in maintenance of City facilities.
• Provide project management for building improvement projects.
• Supervise subordinate supervisors and labor/trade staff.
• Plan, evaluate, and manage renovations and repairs to properties.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, and field staff on projects.
• Develop and maintain mechanical key systems and electronic access control.
• Attend Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings to provide feedback.
• Perform on-site inspections of facilities and those under construction.
• Manage service requests and assign work orders.
