Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Construction Supervisor in the Facility Operations Division to direct and supervise field staff handling carpentry, locksmithing, and related trades across city facilities.

You will provide project management for building improvement projects, coordinate with designers, contractors, and staff, and lead performance reviews for direct reports, ensuring safety and quality standards across sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with seven years of construction experience
• Four-year degree in construction management (preferred)
• NC Locksmith license (preferred)
• NC State General Contractor’s license (preferred)
• Excellent communication and project management skills

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise field staff (carpentry, locksmithing) in maintenance of City facilities.
• Provide project management for building improvement projects.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, and field staff on repairs and improvements.
• Hire, train, and evaluate direct reports.
• Attend Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings to provide feedback.
• Perform on-site inspections of facilities and projects.
