Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Construction Supervisor in the Facility Operations Division of the Department of General Services. The supervisor will manage field staff across trades, direct building improvement projects, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks for City facilities.

Responsibilities include coordinating with designers and contractors, inspecting sites, and overseeing service requests while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with seven years of construction experience
• Four-year degree in construction management (preferred)
• NC Locksmith license and NC General Contractor’s license are preferred
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and documents

Responsibilities

• Provide project management for building improvement projects.
• Direct and supervise field staff (carpentry, locksmithing, etc.) in maintenance of City facilities.
• Plan, evaluate, and manage renovations and repairs to City properties.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors and field staff on repair projects.
• Attend Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings and provide feedback.
• Perform on-site inspections of facilities and oversee service requests and work orders.
