Job description

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for completing daily cleaning and maintenance tasks within a highly trafficked recreation facility.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities
  • Performs general janitorial duties including, but not limited to trash removal, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, restroom cleaning, high/low dusting and the cleaning of bodily fluids.
  • Assists in the set up and tear down of tables, chairs, A/V equipment, sports or other recreation equipment as required for rentals, programs, and special events.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary facility.
  • Assists in the daily maintenance of fitness equipment as well as venue specific tasks as required.
  • Remedies or relays customer concerns to a supervisor.
  • Ensures all facilities, venues, and building equipment are in proper working order to maintain safe conditions for patrons and staff. Remedies and communicates safety concerns to a supervisor immediately.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.

Must be 16 years of age.

Experience with performing general cleaning and facility maintenance tasks preferred.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt effective courses of action using problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to handle incident reports and confrontations in a recreation facility.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to operate and repair small/light equipment, such as power tools.
  • Ability to work irregular hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Tools & Equipment

Requires frequent use of general cleaning equipment and supplies as well as small hand tools.

Physical Demands

Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision.

Environment

Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.

Part-time and Seasonal Town of Parker employees have limited access to benefits which include: employee assistance program (EAP), one (1) hour of sick time accrued for every thirty (30) hours worked, and employee plus one (1) other member in your household a membership to the Parker Recreation Center and/or Fieldhouse. Full pay range is: $16.00/hr. - $20.27/hr.

Shifts Available
  • Saturdays: 9:00am - 1:15pm (Recreation Center)
  • Sundays: 8:30am - 3:30pm (Fieldhouse)
  • Sundays: 3:30pm - 10:30pm (Fieldhouse)
