Overview

The Breakfast Attendant provides exceptional service to hotel guests in an efficient and courteous manner within the complimentary breakfast area.

Responsibilities

1. Approach all guest and employee encounters with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy, and a service-oriented attitude.
2. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag during shifts.
3. Greet and seat guests promptly at appropriate tables.
4. Ensure menus are clean and presentable, maintaining quality control.
5. Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as per requests or management instructions.
6. Keep service areas stocked, organized, clean, and neat; complete all side work each shift.
7. Accommodate guest requests and offer suitable alternatives when necessary.
8. Communicate with all departments regarding VIP guests.
9. Support beverage and food service, including washing dishes, restocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
10. Understand standards for receiving room service orders.
11. Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and specials across departments.
12. Perform cashiering duties, including closing checks and shift paperwork.
13. Execute opening, closing, and side work procedures as per rotation.
14. Answer questions about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
15. Attend meetings and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
16. Prepare high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverages as required.

Qualifications

1. Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
2. High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience is a plus.
3. Willingness to work varied schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
4. Legal age to serve alcohol and successful completion of responsible serving courses such as TIPs.
5. Ability to obtain and hold a Food Handler's card as required by local regulations.
6. Quick and accurate decision-making skills.
7. Ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
8. Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
9. Effective communication skills for answering phones and interacting with guests and staff.
