Job summary

BioSpace in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician, Facilities & Utilities to inspect, operate, maintain and repair critical utility systems supporting mechanical, electrical, HVAC, safety, and waste management. The role follows a 2-2-3, 12-hour evening schedule: 6:00 PM-6:30 AM.

Responsibilities include daily rounds, recording pressures, responding to site alarms, and coordinating with engineering and vendors to resolve issues while maintaining GMP documentation and safe work

Qualifications

• High school diploma with at least 2 years in utilities/facilities maintenance, or an associate’s degree in a technical field.
• Ability to complete paperwork neatly and in accordance with guidelines.
• Experience with computerized systems and CMMS is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, cooling towers, compressors, pumps, and related equipment per SOPs.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure equipment is operational and compliant with safety policies.
• Record pressures and liquid levels; generate reports from results as needed.
• Respond to alarms and perform repairs; coordinate with engineers and vendors as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, calibration, and spare parts teams to maintain inventory and PMs.
