Job summary

Metro Health seeks a Maintenance Technician 2 for evenings to maintain and repair facilities, ensuring safe, compliant operation. The role works under supervision to perform essential maintenance tasks and support reliability across multiple systems.

You will use CMMS and BAS to monitor equipment, document work, and coordinate with vendors and contractors. Strong English, basic trades knowledge, and teamwork are required for this position.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Preferred: vocational training in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry or building technology.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Two years healthcare/maintenance or five years commercial building maintenance; MOS may count.
• EPA 608 Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Boiler Operator’s License or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• Mech Health Care Mechanic Certification or ability to obtain within 30 months.
• Ability to read drawings/manuals and draft basic drawings.
• Strong English communication.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others.
• Proficient with CMMS/BAS and related tech.

Responsibilities

• Use CMMS to create/track work requests, time spent, parts used, status.
• Use BAS and other systems to view conditions, troubleshoot, respond to alarms.
• Complete documentation for compliance with policies and authorities.
• Inspect facilities to assess condition, preventative maintenance, and repair needs.
• Complete PM and corrective work orders; prioritize, schedule, track parts and time.
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.
• Coordinate vendors/contractors; obtain quotes and schedule work.
• Mentor others and contribute to process improvements.
• Maintain inventory and tool storage; keep areas clean and organized.
• Attend mandatory meetings and training; work extended hours as needed.
