Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County seeks a facilities leader to oversee campus maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring safe and reliable building systems and utilities across a single campus. The role includes budget planning, policy development, and staff supervision to support ongoing operations and emergencies.

You will coordinate with contractors, monitor energy management initiatives, and maintain CMMS data while ensuring compliance with safety standards and college policies.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressively responsible maintenance experience in building mechanical systems and energy management.
• Formal specialized training and licenses for HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems; EPA CFC Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to participate in blood borne pathogens training within six months.
• Hepatitis B vaccination or a signed waiver.
• Flexibility to change shifts and respond to emergencies.
• Background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the operations of the assigned College department or division.
• Direct the development and maintenance of all departmental records and reports.
• Develop and administer departmental policies and procedures.
• Train and evaluate assigned staff, as required.
• Develop budget projections for the department or division and monitor expenditures.
• Oversee, monitor and control appropriations and expenditures as required.
• Direct the maintenance and operation of the utility distribution system and coordinate with the Director.
