Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM) is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to oversee all facilities and custodial operations at South Campus Commons for the University of Maryland. You will lead a team of ~20 staff, implement preventive maintenance, coordinate with campus partners, and ensure a safe, clean residential environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of full-time experience in facilities management.
• Previous experience gathering and analyzing data, creating reports, and managing budgets.
• onsite attendance Monday through Friday, during Facilities Office hours. Evening or weekend availability may be required during peak periods, move-in/move-out operations, and special events.
• Knowledge of building systems such as chilled water HVAC systems, fan coil units, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire/Life Safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively residents, staff, and campus partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, student housing management software and work order management systems.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., copier, computer, telephone).
• Experience supervising full-time staff.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities management and custodial services for seven buildings and 2,195 residents.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all spaces, including units and common areas.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to preserve assets.
• Prioritize and respond to work orders and emergencies promptly.
• Conduct inspections to ensure standards and address deficiencies.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for tasks.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and outcomes.
