Harmony Senior Services in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform semi-skilled manual tasks related to the upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment. You will safely operate tools, order materials, and complete repairs as directed by the Maintenance Director.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of maintenance experience is required.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to complete tasks thoroughly and on time.
• Team player with polite and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines commonly used in the maintenance/building trade.
• Order materials as directed, place and receive phone calls.
• Make repairs to building, equipment, and appliances as directed.
• Disassemble and move furniture throughout the community.
• Check maintenance logs/work orders for prompt responses.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Prepare and paint surfaces in the community.
• Maintain exterior grounds, including landscaping and trash removal.
• Perform basic electrical work, including changing light bulbs.
• Transport residents safely in community vehicle to appointments.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance schedule and safety drills.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
