Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Virginia to perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks across buildings, grounds, equipment, and appliances as assigned by the Maintenance Director.

Responsibilities include operating tools, ordering materials, performing repairs, and maintaining safety logs. The role requires a HS diploma and at least two years in maintenance, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of maintenance experience required.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines used in the maintenance/building trades.
• Order materials as directed and receive phone calls.
• Make repairs to building, equipment, and appliances as directed by the Maintenance Director.
• Disassemble and move furniture within the community.
• Check maintenance logs and work orders to ensure timely responses.
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Prepare and paint surfaces in the community.
• Maintain exterior grounds and assist with landscaping and trash removal.
