Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. seeks a skilled facilities manager to oversee cost-efficient maintenance across multiple facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds.

You will lead a team and coordinate with vendors for remodels, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 5 years in trades, journeyman certification, supervisory experience, BAS experience, and strong reading/comprehension.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Five years in construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related work.
• Journeyman certification in one or more trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry).
• Certification as a building maintenance supervisor or Facility Manager preferred.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak before groups.
• Ability to calculate estimates and amounts.
• Ability to solve problems with limited standardization.
• Experience using BAS software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with corporate and supervisors to manage construction or remodeling projects; plan permits, inspect work based on blueprints, specifications, and standards.
• Manage maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, budgets, time, and production records as well as working conditions for maximum efficiency.
• Manage production schedules and work procedures to ensure projects meet deadlines.
• Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS); review, record, analyze and optimize energy usage and costs.
• Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Coach workers in achieving work goals.
• Perform maintenance work (temporarily or in an emergency).
• Supervise inmates/detainees receiving maintenance training.
