Job summary

GEO Secured Services is seeking a maintenance specialist to join a diverse team. You will operate across preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance, applying your carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills to keep facilities running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of general maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work with detainee maintenance staff under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years general maintenance or related construction experience.
• Valid, active driver’s license.
• Ability to perform plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Effective communication with residents and staff; respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and machinery for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Survey assigned jobs and ensure proper materials and tools are on hand.
• Direct and inspect the work of detainee maintenance staff, providing technical assistance.
• Perform carpentry to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, etc.
• Carry out repairs for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform electrical work, including fixtures and wiring repairs.
• Execute minor construction work using hand and power tools.
• Complete mechanical work involving facility machinery, motors, and vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining security of assigned detainees.
