Job summary

GVC II in Bronx, NY is seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician to support maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our Bronx facility. The role covers electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, and other systems while keeping the site safe, functional, and well maintained.

You'll inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out general facility tasks. A high school diploma and 1–2 years of maintenance experience are preferred, with a safety-first mindset and ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of maintenance or repair experience preferred.
• Broad knowledge of general maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems across multiple facility systems.
• Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong focus on workplace safety.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Electrician or welding license/certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair facility components and systems, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, and other building equipment.
• Inspect and test equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Complete mechanical work and minor repairs on facility systems and equipment.
• Install new components and systems as needed.
• Perform general facility maintenance and upkeep.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
• Properly handle and dispose of non-hazardous and hazardous liquid and solid waste.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Identify maintenance concerns and communicate repair needs to management.
• Support additional facility-related projects and maintenance needs as assigned.
