Job summary

Lower Eastside Service Center in Bronx, NY seeks a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems. You will ensure safety and functionality of all building services, perform routine inspections, and respond to on-call emergencies.

The role requires at least 5 years of building maintenance experience, a valid NYS driver’s license, and the ability to work varying hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 5 years of building maintenance experience in HVAC, plumbing, painting and electrical.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• NYS Driver’s License required.
• High school diploma or GED; trade school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and repair maintenance problems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
• Maintain air conditioners by cleaning filters and condensers monthly.
• Check smoke detectors, emergency lights and fire exit locks.
• Change fuses, bulbs and ceiling tiles as needed.
• Unclog drains, toilets and sinks.
• Monitor boiler temperature and oil levels.
• Assist in fire drills and on-call coverage.
• Fills in for other facility mechanics on leave.
• Oversee porter/handyman/cleaner and inventory of fixed assets.
