Job summary

The Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform a range of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the upkeep of zoo buildings, grounds, and exhibits. You will work in a collaborative team environment, following blueprints and instructions to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in a related field, with familiarity in HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, and proficiency with

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related maintenance field.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems is preferred.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong communication and physical stamina; follow instructions and safety rules.

• Perform maintenance and repair of zoo buildings, grounds and exhibits.
• Operate hand and power tools and other maintenance equipment.
• Follow written and oral instructions, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
