Job summary

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Senior Building Systems Technician to perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems across the campus. You will work with limited supervision, ensuring reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, elevator, and emergency power systems in public facilities and animal areas.

Reporting to the Manager of Building Engineering, you will document work in CMMS, coordinate with contractors, and participate

Qualifications

• HVAC/refrigeration experience in commercial settings preferred.
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to acquire within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license and availability for weekends/holidays/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety).
• Operate and monitor building management system (BMS/BAS).
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work in CMMS.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors; support project work.
