Job summary

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Building Systems Technician I to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems across the campus, with a focus on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, elevator, and emergency power.

Working under supervision, you will document work in the CMMS, support safety and zoo policies, and assist with projects while keeping guest areas operational. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Availability for weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency response.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevator, life safety, and emergency power systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and daily system inspections.
• Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance situations.
• Assist with building engineering projects and system improvements.
• Escort and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors.
• Accurately document work using the CMMS.
• Follow all safety regulations, building codes, and zoo policies.
