Job summary

Wendy's is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform reactive and preventative maintenance on restaurant equipment and property across Wendy's locations in Chicago, IL. The role requires knowledge of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with EPA Type I & II certification preferred.

You will manage work orders in My TechConnect, maintain inventories, and support capital planning through accurate reporting. Some on-call, overtime, and exposure to extreme weather may occur.

Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of electrical repair, carpentry, and plumbing.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Must lift up to 50lbs, climb ladder up to 30ft, and work in extreme climates.
  • EPA Certification Type I and II.
  • 1-3 years' experience in related maintenance/repair work.
  • Competencies: Customer Orientation, Learning Agility, Initiative, Functional Expertise, Organizing and Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively creates and completes work orders for critical issues found during restaurant visits not entered by operations.
  • Performs preventative maintenance service as outlined in PM work orders.
  • Creates work orders for needed repairs identified during PM.
  • Maintains accurate parts and company owned tool inventories and ensures warranty processes are followed.
  • Reports the condition of equipment and property as well as maintenance status to assist capital planning.

Ensures timely and accurate completion of scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM), while providing ongoing training on equipment operation and PM training at the restaurant level. Responsibilities
Reactive Maintenance -
  • Performs demand repairs on restaurant equipment and property as identified through work orders entered into My Techconnect.
  • Proactively creates and completes work orders for critical issues found during restaurant visits not entered by operations.
Preventative Maintenance -
  • Performs preventative maintenance service as outlined in PM work orders.
  • Creates work orders for needed repairs identified during PM.
Proper utilization of My TechConnect system -
  • Ensures work orders are completed in the time frame identified by the priority codes assigned to the work orders by organizing and planning daily work load.
  • Maintains accurate parts and company owned tool inventories.
  • Ensures warranty process for company restaurants is followed.
  • Reports the condition of equipment and property as well as maintenance status to assist
  • with capital planning.
Personal Development -
  • Participates in Individual Development Planning process.
  • Completes required safety training to comply with company guidelines.
  • Stays current on industry standards.

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Travel: None

Pay Range: $20.67 - $40.38 Hr.

Expected Work Location (Field)

It is expected that you will primarily perform work at Wendy\'s Restaurants or to other field locations in Chicago, IL as designated by the Company. When not working at a Wendy\'s location, you are permitted to work remotely in Chicago, IL. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Field

Knowledge / Skills / Experience -
  • Technical knowledge of electrical repair, carpentry, and plumbing
  • Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladder up to 30ft, and work in extreme climates. Work requires kneeling, bending, twisting, and handling of tools.
  • Ability to maintain/repair varied types of electrical equipment
  • 1-3 years' experience in related general maintenance/repair work or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification - EPA Certification Type I and II
  • Competencies - Customer Orientation, Learning Agility, Initiative, Functional Expertise, Organizing and Planning.

The hourly rate actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. The target annual bonus for this role is 7.5% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
