Job summary

GDOT is seeking an experienced facilities technician to support advanced building trades across state facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems, following directions and safety protocols.

You will inspect mechanical systems, execute minor repairs, use hand and power tools, and coordinate with supervisors to schedule preventive services. Outdoor work and moderate lifting are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in grounds and building maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical work.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Able to read, write and perform basic math.
• Must be able to work outdoors and lift moderately heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance or construction of assigned facilities and related structures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance of structures, signs, electrical devices, and climate control systems.
• Inspect and repair building systems and equipment as directed.
• Identify repair needs independently and notify supervisors for complex issues.
• Provide quality customer service and follow safety protocols.
