Effinghamschools seeks a Maintenance Technician to repair and service buildings and grounds, including mechanical equipment and systems. You will perform minor to semi-complex mechanical, electrical, and building repairs, conduct inspections, and assist in parts replacement and ordering.
You must follow safety procedures, operate hand and power tools, and respond to emergencies. A high school equivalent, General Maintenance training, and a Georgia driver's license are required, with 1–3 years of
Maintains and services buildings and grounds, to include mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Performs minor to semi-complex repair services of mechanical, electrical, and building systems and equipment. Conducts periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair. Assists with the identification of parts needed for replacement and places orders as necessary. Complete all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Technicians in this classification should be monitored and supervised closely.
Minimum Level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion high school or completion of post-secondary certification, trade, etc.
Formal Training: General Maintenance training is preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must have a current Georgia State Driver's License.
Work Experience: An apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. 1-3 years of experience for entry into this position. Experienced in operating a variety of hand tool equipment for usage in facility repairs.
Tools and Equipment Used: Calculator, personal computer, telephone, facsimile machine, paper shredder, copier, printer, hammer, ladder, screwdrivers, heating & cooling & refrigeration equipment, plumbing, carpentry power tools, etc.
