Job summary

University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE seeks an Apprentice Facilities Technician to assist with preventive maintenance, work orders, and minor renovations across HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, lighting and electrical systems. Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM; no remote work.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of related education/experience, valid driver’s license, and ability to complete safety training and communicate with campus staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of related education/experience combined.
• Experience with hand tools and basic mechanical knowledge (pumps, motors, filters, etc.).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to complete safety training courses and adhere to safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with campus customers and technicians and to troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic to moderate preventive maintenance, work orders, and minor renovations across HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, lighting and electrical systems.
• Support scheduling and coordination with maintenance teams and campus customers.

Position Summary

The Apprentice Facilities Technician will assist with the completion of basic and moderate levels of preventive maintenance, work orders, and minor renovations and to include the following trades: HVAC , refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, lighting and electrical.
