Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Iowa to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and safety controls. You will perform preventive maintenance, ensure code compliance, manage energy usage, and support safety programs while collaborating with teams and following CBRE policies.

Requires 4–5 years of related experience and a high school diploma or trade school diploma; certifications such as Universal CFC are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required with 4–5 years of related experience
• Universal CFC certification preferred; additional certifications/licenses as required by local/state jurisdictions

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives for building operations and work safety.
• Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Follow policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Review inspections of building systems to ensure operation meets design conditions.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to solve complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across disciplines.
• Lead by example and align with CBRE RISE values.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
