Job summary

UG2, based in Boston, MA, seeks a Building Engineer II to operate and maintain building systems, troubleshoot issues, and support facility services. This mid-level role requires hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and BAS/BMS, plus strong safety and documentation skills.

You will participate in preventive maintenance programs, respond to service requests, and coordinate with contractors as needed to ensure reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of commercial or institutional building systems.
• Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and CMMS usage.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain HVAC, boilers, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and failures.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues.
• Maintain BAS/BMS controls and building infrastructure in good condition.
• Respond to service requests and document work performed in CMMS.
