Job summary

JLL in San Francisco is seeking an Operating Engineer to support operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. The role runs 1:00pm-9:30pm, Monday to Friday, with on-site presence required at a Local 39 position.

The candidate will perform maintenance tasks, manage the CMMS, handle preventive checks, and assist in safety and training programs while providing strong customer service and teamwork within the facilities team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks including painting, pressure washing, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, locksmith work.
• Maintain the work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable).
• Troubleshoot electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Comply with safety procedures and participate in training programs.
• Handle other projects and tasks as assigned.
