Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer to support operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems at an on-site facility in Waltham, MA.

The role offers 6am–3pm weekdays with a rotating on-call schedule, and requires at least 3+ years in related maintenance work, trade education, and relevant certifications. Strong safety mindset and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or plan to achieve within first year with JLL assistance.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to use ladders up to 30 feet tall.
• Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting and/or driving; strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Paint, pressure wash, maintain lighting, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance.
• Maintain CMMS and complete tenant service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Support on-call or emergency response; troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in training programs.
• Assist with other projects as assigned.
