Job summary

Broward Schools is seeking an Assistant Head Facilities Serviceperson to support cleaning programs and ensure the safety and upkeep of facilities. You will supervise shifts, operate boilers and HVAC equipment, and mentor staff in proper procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of facility experience, and strong safety and energy conservation practices. Physical ability for lifting and climbing is expected.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or GED.
• Three years of industrial, commercial, or educational facility experience.
• Ability to follow custodial practices and direct others.
• Must understand and practice energy conservation.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Head Custodian's directions and supervise shift staff.
• Instruct subordinates on proper use of equipment and safety procedures.
• Operate boilers, HVAC and power sources as directed.
• Inspect the school premises for security and safety before departure.
• Record time and materials for projects and orders.
• Perform duties of the Head Facilities Serviceperson during vacations.
• Maintain safety and train in program compliance.
• Perform housekeeping and minor repairs as assigned.
