Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or GED completion.
• Three years of industrial, commercial, or educational facility experience.
• Ability to follow standard custodial practices and to act as Head Custodian in absence.
• Ability to plan, direct work of others and prepare work programs.

Responsibilities

• Review work by Facilities Serviceperson and shift staff as assigned.
• Instruct subordinate personnel in use of supplies, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Perform duties of Facilities Serviceperson.
• Activate, monitor, and adjust boilers and air conditioning equipment.
• Climb ladders to change light bulbs and perform minor repairs as directed.
• Ensure building security before departure and inspect perimeter.
• Inform supervisor of needed supplies and service needs; call in maintenance orders.
• Perform duties of Head Facilities Serviceperson during vacations.
• Maintain safety and participate in training programs.
• Complete projects with proper time and materials recording.
• Handle heavy physical tasks up to 55 pounds as required.
• Comply with safety procedures and school policies.
• Other duties assigned by principal or designee.
