Job summary

Homes for the Homeless in Staten Island, NY is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily building operations, lead maintenance staff, and ensure a safe, clean residential environment for families.

The role requires strong knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC, plus at least three years of experience and one year in supervision. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a commitment to work-life balance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
• At least 1 year of management/supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC is a must.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and supervise maintenance department staff.
• Plan, assign, and oversee daily schedules and work assignments for maintenance staff.
• Address performance issues, including discipline and termination, in accordance with organization all policies and procedures.
• Inspect and evaluate building systems and facilities to identify maintenance needs and required repairs.
• Assess building conditions to develop work plans, prioritize tasks, and establish project timelines.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, accurately, and within established time frames.
• Monitor and manage maintenance inventory and supplies to support efficient operations.
• Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs throughout the facility.
• Conduct routine inspections of the property and take corrective action to uphold the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
