Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a Facilities Superintendent for FM Team C, overseeing 1.1 million square feet across 47 buildings. The role requires strategic leadership, budget management, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure safe, efficient facilities operations.

You will lead a team of skilled trades staff, drive energy efficiency measures, and develop staff through coaching and training while aligning with city goals and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Four years of supervisory skilled trades experience in maintenance, repair and construction.
• Education/Experience Equivalency: additional education may substitute one year of minimum experience.
• Licenses/certifications: valid Driver’s License at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises trade supervisors and skilled trades employees; sets goals and performance standards.
• Plans, assigns, and evaluates work; provides technical expertise to staff and improves efficiency.
• Develops and manages budgets; allocates funds to achieve objectives.
• Coordinates projects with other city agencies and handles sensitive public relations issues.
• Implements safety and security standards and ensures compliance.
• Inspires and coaches staff; performs performance evaluations and provides feedback.
• Inspects and approves contract work for compliance with plans.

Bachelor’s Degree

BOMI SMA/Systems Maintenance Administrator or SMT

IFMA - FMP or SFP

LEED Credential

IREM or BOAC designation

Three years supervisory experience in facilities management
